Mountain House girls water polo beats East Union for first win of the season
The Mustangs opened Valley Oak League play 1-0 with a 9-4 win Monday in Manteca.

The Mountain House Mustangs girls water polo team picked up their first win of the season Monday in Manteca, beating the East Union Lancers 9-4.
Mountain House jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period and carried a 5-1 advantage into halftime. The Mustangs added three more goals in the third and one in the fourth to close it out. Seniors Elina Odom and Lourdes Walker led the scoring with three goals each, and sophomore Erlinda Javier made six saves in the net.
The win puts the Mustangs at 1-0 in the Valley Oak League and 1-4 overall.
The Mountain House boys team did not fare as well in Manteca the same day, falling to East Union 13-9. That loss leaves the Mustangs at 0-1 in Valley Oak League play and 4-5-2 overall.
