West High beats Mountain House 33-14 for first win of season
The Mustangs' home loss on Friday night evened both teams at 1-1.

West High's Wolf Pack beat the Mountain House Mustangs 33-14 Friday night in Mountain House, giving West its first win of the season.
West scored three times in the first quarter to lead 16-0: a touchdown catch by junior Ray Chavolla on a pass from junior Logan Barry, a safety when senior Marco Chacon sacked Mustang quarterback junior Bode Jacobsen in the end zone, and a 66-yard kick return by junior Jose Rios. Junior Ruben Mayo added a field goal late in the half for a 19-0 lead.
The Mustangs came out throwing in the third quarter, with Jacobsen connecting with senior Isaac Garcia for Mountain House's first score. West junior Ryder Harmison ran for 274 yards on 27 carries and scored in the closing minutes of the third to put West up 26-8; he scored again in the fourth before the Mustangs added a late touchdown.
The win evened West at 1-1, and Mountain House moved to 1-1 with the loss. West will host Kimball High on Friday, while Mountain House will face Deer Valley in Antioch.
